How Close Are We To A Call For Jihad That Can Be Attained

ft-hood.jpg

In retrospect, disturbing information has been cited as known issues regarding Nidal Malik Hasan, issues that have been obvious for months. At least six months ago, Hasan was in the lime light of law enforcement for his comparisons of suicide bombings with a soldier giving his life for others by throwing himself on a grenade. His internet postings lead law enforcement agents to scrutinize him however, in the end, it was determined that his article was within the boundaries his job.

He earned his rank of Major nineteen months ago in April of 2008 and received a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry in 1997. He was a devout Muslim and anyway you look at it, reality is that American’s have been and are killing Muslims. The truth is that as far back as his college days Hasan had issues with Americans interference with Muslim nations and as interference grew to occupation, Hasan’s inner conflicts grew as well.

As earlier as his college days Hasan showed signs that he was not mentally equipped to be in the military giving a classroom presentation at one point which justified suicide bombings. In his position as psychiatrist, hearing the inner most conflicts of those who had fought the “enemy” and survived, I’m sure he heard tales that disturbed him deeply, based on who he was and his beliefs as a Muslim.

Yet he climbed the ranks in the military and was about to be shipped off to fight against those he held dear to his heart. Clearly, not only was there a conflict raging inside of him but there is conflicting beliefs within the faith of practicing Muslims. Some say that violence is not part of the religion while others vehemently believe that violence is at the core of their beliefs – violence against non-believers.

While family members are saying that Nidal Hasan was a peaceful, loving and compassionate person who never committed an act of violence and was in fact incapable of this attack that he orchestrated with ease. Others have stated that over the past few months he had become so conflicted that on some levels he spoke at times incoherently.

Only a rational mind is able to discern between righteous violence (if there is such a thing) and violence that is based on the insanity of the jihad that Osama bin Laden calls for. Hasan showed signs of, as well as verbalized feelings of, persecution for simply being a devout Muslim, he was conflicted as to what he could tell his fellow Muslim servicemen in an effort to pacify any misgivings they might hold regarding fighting fellow Muslims but deep down inside, it appears he was the only one with true misgivings.

Those misgivings lead to him marching in to the very place that military personnel went to process out to Iraq/Afghanistan and attempting to killing as many of those who were preparing to leave as he could. No way is this a judgment but a statement of fact, it appears his violence was directed at those who would willing go off to war against his people.

This was an act that is being praised by some in the Muslim community as heroic. As I watched one Muslim, living in the United States, praise Osama bin Laden and relate how he holds bin Laden dear, in his heart, I had to ask myself is America missing the point.

The point being that we are, on some levels, in danger on our own soil because with open arms, we have allowed the “enemy” to infiltrate our lands. With our freedoms of speech they are allowed to spout discontent, hatred and violence against the land they have run to in order to improve their lot in life and enjoy the freedoms they do not have in their own lands.

There seems to be a wide divide and a serious confliction of principle and ideas that has lead to the United States allowing of this behavior to flourish in our lands as we send our soldiers off to war in these lands. How could this have happened here? More importantly since it is not truly known, at any given moment in time, just what is churning in someone else’s mind, how can we, as a nation, be sure that a jihad is not being planned at this very moment within the United States of America.

As Obama decides whether to send more troops off to war, I wonder if we have not bitten off more than we can chew. Are we fighting a war that we can not win? Have we trusted the influx of people who mean us harm? Do we walk away now or continue the interference in situations that are doomed to be what they are?

I wonder if we are not setting ourselves up for more violence on our own soil. I wonder how effective a jihad would be if, simultaneously, those Muslims in the United States who idolize Osama bin Laden where called upon to act – and you should be wondering the same things.

And that’s the way I see it!!!!!

Welcome To The Parallel Universe Of Politics

john-boehner2.jpg

The parallel universe of everyday life and politics has me wondering who is most crazy, me or the politicians.

I’m just saying, based on the desires of the politicians, we are spending billions of dollars annually supporting other countries (which over time equals trillions), yet they bitch and moan about supplying the people of America with reasonable costs for something as basic as health care on the basis of the expense.

Let the politicians tell it, we where successful in our efforts in Iraq when we paid low level Taliban to switch sides and fight on our side against the Taliban. Yet, people are still dying, car bombs and suicide bombs are still going off in areas that are “protected” by security check-points that allow bomb carrying individuals to enter guarded areas. This is a clear indication that these vehicles and people are not being adequately checked before entering any given area – what’s the point of having the check-points.

More to the point, who are the people charged with the responsibility of searches at these check-points? Could it be the same people who where paid to “be on our side” in the battle against the Taliban?

Leaving the war in the Middle East behind, as we should be doing in reality, and looking at health care/insurance reform, the parallel universe becomes even more obvious. Over and over again Republicans are saying “no” to government’s “involvement” in health care yet, their suggestion to the problem is to expand the government program of Medicare/Medicaid as a means of covering those individuals without medical coverage.

Also included in their plan was a stipulation that would make it mandatory for you, the citizen, to be covered. In some instances subsidies would be provided, by the “government,” to help cover the cost of the insurance coverage you choose.

All this “government involvement,” in covering the cost of insuring those who are uninsured, while choosing co-ops as an alternative to public options, none of which lends to the idea of lowering the basic costs of insurance but, instead puts the government on the accounts receivable ledgers of insurance companies.

Now Republicans and some Democrats, as well, who are all politicians are saying these things with a straight face and possibly a straight lie, that the public option that is on the table would give government too much control over your medical experience while they, themselves, attempt to use government money to pay the expensive premiums to the insurance companies.

On the other hand, the public option, to my understanding, allows the government to negotiate lower premiums with certain insurance companies, thereby setting up a competitive edge in the insurance business. This, according to my understanding would be the only involvement the government would have in the public option.

Even though at this point, I am unclear how they would negotiate these lower premiums or why those against the public option have the idea that this involves a “government takeover” of insurance companies, I say at face value the public option has more ability at achieving the goal of coverage and competition.

I do have to ask would the negotiations sacrifice services for lower prices or would the lower prices come as a result of group coverage alone, as is the case with most coverage coming from job situations at this time? My impressions are that this is not the case, that services would not be compromised however this is the case being made by those opposing the public option.

I feel as though what the Republicans are offering is the insurance version of the old bait and switch con game. I feel they show more love to foreigners than they do to their own people, who they were hired to protect and serve. I feel they are intentionally confusing the issues with only their best interests at heart. I feel “we the people” are being duped with a word game played by politicians that think they are smarter than us.

And that’s the way I see it!!!!

Get A Grip America - Played By The Middle East

Published by truth2u under Middle East, News, Politics Edit This

kabul.jpg

Over the next five years, the United States Legislation has committed $1.5 billion PER YEAR, in nonmilitary aid to Pakistan. This outrageous amount is viewed by Pakistani citizens as compromising their country’s sovereignty even though President Asif Ali Zardari, of Pakistan, has agreed to the stipulations in the Kerry-Lugar bill.

In Afghanistan, America is considering paying Afghan citizens to side with America in the fight against the Taliban, citing the fact that this method of bribing citizens worked in the war efforts in Iraq.

American still believes that anybody can be bought because this is the American way and while they throw money to Iraqis, Afghanis and Pakistanis the war in these countries against America and their intruding principles, rages on.

This morning on CNN I saw a reporter interviewing what appeared to be young, college age Pakistanis who clearly view the United State’s involvement in their country as an intrusion.

With the rising incidences of violence in Pakistan, fast forward to a point in time where these college students lose a parent, a favorite aunt or uncle, a brother or sister, as a result of the violence that is growing in that country based on the needs of America and you have the makings of a militant, a Taliban or al-Qaeda operative.

In Palestine, according to Amnesty International (AI), Israel deprives Palestinians of something as basic as drinking water. Amnesty International, a human rights group, states that Israel is pumping disproportionate amounts of drinking water from an aquifer it controls in the West Bank while blocking infrastructure projects that would improve existing water supplies to Palestinians.

While the Israel government vehemently denies these allegations, I say Israel’s track record of dealing with the Palestinians speaks volumes to the truths of the suffering of 2.3 million Palestinians living in Gaza and therefore, for me, these allegations ring true. I believe that Israel would, as a means to maintain control through their inhumane treatment of the Palestinian people, deny them the basics of drinking water. Yet, America continues to support Israel in the lack of compassion it shows towards 2.3 million souls.

Headlines today read: 93 killed in blast at Pakistan market; Afghan militants hit U.N. guest house – 12 dead as gunmen target U.N. staff in Kabul; Baghdad attacks stir fears of Sunni violence.

Violence in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq continues and America refuses to take their blinders off to see what their occupation in these lands is accomplishing – not a damn thing!!! America continues to throw billions of dollars at the governments and citizens of these countries yet fail to see that this is wasted money.

The thing that continues to anger me the most is that it is one thing for the United States to be ignorant and blinded by ego in their belief that they can win, on any level, in their dealings with the Middle East. It is unbelievable that so much money is being donated to so many Middle Eastern countries, but it is another thing to send innocent children off to do your ignorant bidding, losing life, spirit, friends and in some cases losing their minds.

comming-home-from-war.jpg

Open your eyes to see, your ears to hear and recognize this: Just because the United States Senate and all those who have trustingly been given the task of governing and serving “we the people” but instead have shown us how easily they can be bought, paid off, to doing the bidding, not for what is in the best interest of we the people but, for big business or the highest bidder does not mean that those in the Middle East will be so willing to jump on the bandwagon of our immoral principles and sell out their own people based on America’s need to control and intrude.

As a United Nations human rights investigator warns the United States that its use of unmanned warplanes, called drones, used to carry out targeted executions may violate international laws, I say recognize that as much as you attempt to convince yourselves that you are winning the war on terrorism in these countries, preventing attacks on American soil and promoting the “democratic” way throughout the world you are doing nothing more than creating more animosity, more hatred and a burning desire for revenge while supplying financial assistance to the goal of destroying America.

I say it is time for America to get a grip on reality – we are no better than the way in which we view Hamas, the Taliban or al-Qaeda, in these foreign lands, we are no better than Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians and as these militant groups get stronger with the new recruits that emerge from our interference and their pockets bulge from the money we are donating, I say what we perpetrate we perpetuate and the ugliness will come back to us eventually.

And that’s the way I see it!!!!

American Politics vs The War In Afghanistan – Who Wins

Published by truth2u under Middle East, News, Politics Edit This

bomb-in-iraq.jpg

If Iraq is such an excellent example of what a military surge can do for Afghanistan, then how could 160 people be dead as a result of not one but two suicide bombings that took place on Sunday in Baghdad.

As Iraqis mourn the death toll from the worst bombing in years, Americans need to be asking themselves if we are fooling ourselves into believing we have truly served a purpose in Iraq after six years of fighting.

Believe me I am not criticizing the American effort because I am proud of our troops but I am questioning the strength of the Iraqi people to sustain the security of their country just as I question Afghanistan as well as Pakistan to get a handle on the insurgents in their areas.

I think it is time for America to put aside ego and recognize that these insurgents, both Taliban and al-Qaeda, are not simply going to run for cover at the sight of the United States of America. If anything, I see them as playing a deadly game with Americans, a game that is encouraged by more troops in their lands and truth be told while America may be winning the battles, I see America losing the war.

Some here in America believe that Obama is showing the “enemy” a level of weakness in his thoughtful hesitation to send more troops to Afghanistan but I see sending more troops as a form of weakness in not being able to admit you are fighting a losing battle.

The bombings in Baghdad are proof that the Iraqi government is either still lacking in skills or still corrupted to the point of allowing this type of situation to flourish in their lands. More to the point, can they really stop the madness even if they truly wanted to?

It would seem that the people, that is the citizens of Iraq should become more involved in passing on any and all threats of violence they hear about, allowing the government the eyes and ears they apparently do not have, in an effort to diminish the raw violence that ends the lives of so many at one time.

Someone there has to know the plans of these insurgents, yet no one reports the plans and the violence continues. Psychologically this has to be taking a toll on the people of Iraq. Psychologically there has to be a sense of extreme fear, hopelessness and defeat in the hearts and minds of the people, which will not let them move beyond where they are and this is exactly what the insurgents have in mind, to control the will of the people through horrific violence, destruction and death.

As far as Afghanistan, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said there is a strong likelihood that Hamid Karzai will remain in office even after the results of the run-off vote of November 7, 2009. Will this vote legitimize Karzai in the eyes of the world and if it does legitimize him what exactly does that mean for the war in Afghanistan? Karzai will be the same person he has always been so how does that help the effort?

Even if his opponent wins this run-off election what effect will he have on the violence of the Taliban in that area? Is America financially capable of war in Afghanistan/The Middle East for the next generation of years? Some truths that we, as a nation, hold need to be re-evaluated and one of those truths remains our perception of the “victory” achieved in Iraq.

iraq-bomb.jpg

As of this date, October 25, 2009, I see no real victory in Iraq, I see only the temporary retreat of the insurgents, I see only the grief in the faces of the mourners but more importantly I hear the voices of these radicals, shouting loudly that you have not removed us, in the violence perpetrated on Sunday, where 160 lives were senselessly lost and I can only hope that America heard the voices as well.

And that’s the way I see it!!!!

Trust – How Far Can It Take You

Published by truth2u under Middle East, News, Politics Edit This

irans-uranium.jpg

According to an article I was reading on Yahoo News, Iran did not outright reject the uranium enrichment plan that was placed on the table for them, endorsed by the U.N., which would involve shipping most of Iran’s uranium abroad for enrichment. Instead Iran had a counterproposal which would be to buy nuclear fuel rather than ship low-enriched uranium to Russia for further enrichment.

Some see this counterproposal as a stall mechanism, the game Iran generally plays to draw out negotiations with the West when it comes to nuclear talks. I see it as Iran flexing its muscles in an arrogant statement to the West saying we do this our way or no way.

What I found to be truly ludicrous about this article is that according to the author, who deferred to Iran’s state television, “An unnamed member of Iran’s negotiating team urged world powers to ‘refrain from past mistakes in violating agreements and make efforts to win the trust of the Iranian nations.’”

Win the trust of the Iranian nations. Here this country has lied in the name of God as they beat down their own people to suppress the fraudulent vote in their country but they speak to world powers winning the trust of Iran. It seems to me that as the world witnessed just this one situation that violently unfolded in Iran earlier this year it is Iran who needs to be acting in a manner to win the trust of world powers.

That’s just my opinion though an opinion based on rational thought that puts me in mind of Pakistan. November, 2008 Pakistan was standing strong in their denial to India that the Taliban or any militant group inhabited their lands.

When the Mumbai horror happened and India accused Pakistan of harboring the precise element that created the destruction the world witnessed last year, in India, Pakistan was in arrogant denial. Fast forward one year later and look what is taking place in Pakistan at this time.

It may take some time but truth comes to light ninety-nine percent of the time. How is Pakistan looking at this juncture, exactly like the liars the world knew them to be last year when that sat in denial. It amazes me that liars always seem confused, insulted even, when people do not believe them.

Was the Pakistani government afraid to admit to the world the existence of the Taliban in their lands or were they intentionally covering for the Taliban? As the violence grows more intense by the day, it is obvious that the Taliban have always been in Pakistan and they are not quite ready to relinquish control of those lands at this particular time.

In violent protest of the Pakistani governments crackdown, just today Taliban militants killed at least 24 people in their latest surge of violence. Over the last couple of weeks the Taliban, in Pakistan, have become extremely violent and resistant. If they were never there, this would not be unfolding before our eyes with the intensity that it has been lately.

How much trust is America willing to blanket these nations with especially in light of the lies they have been caught in. Even with Afghanistan’s November 7, 2009, re-vote, if current President Hamid Karzai stands as the leader after the vote, what is the next move? Can Karzai be trusted to work with the United States simply because he allowed a run-off vote or is this the game Karzai is playing to win trust and more American money, knowing he can somehow control the vote?

And that’s the way I see it!!!!

Is America Intelligent Enough To Know When To Walk Away – When To Face Reality

Published by truth2u under Middle East, News, Politics Edit This

pakistan-war.jpg

More than once I have heard the concept discussed of the corruption in the Afghanistan government as well as corruption in Iraq. This corruption does not stop at the fraudulent elections but goes much deeper and affects primarily every level of government. Do we walk away or provide moral integrity where corruption is the norm?

This corruption in Afghanistan involves the facilitation of drugs out of Afghanistan, bribes, payoffs, checkpoints that are permissive in their allowing the flow of drugs out of Afghanistan and weapons into the area. Shakedowns of business owners and laborers forced to turn over their daily earnings to government officials.

With all of this corruption happening, with the goal of money being the objective, why would American send more money over there? It seems to me that after eight years of fighting, with the situation deteriorating, it is safe to say that America underestimated the influence of the Taliban.

It feels safe to say that if we continue to underestimate the power of the Taliban and the weakness of Pakistan and Afghanistan to have allowed al-Qaida/Taliban a “safe haven” in their lands, we deserve the outcome of these militants overthrowing Pakistan and acquiring the nuclear weapons in that area.

I say you are deluding yourself into believing that the corruption does not extend to befriending America in order for America to provide more money to enhance the weapons, thus the Taliban’s ability to fight. I say America is losing its grip on reality and funding a war against itself.

I say win (and I use that word lightly not knowing what a win constitutes) the war first and then decide how much money to spend in reconstruction, otherwise I fear we are just being used by the Middle East and I do not like the feeling.

Recently Pakistan told America that they did not want money but state of the art weaponry instead. I am so glad that America had the sense to say no to this request telling Pakistan they needed to deal with what is happening on the ground with ground fighting.

I believe trust is an earned commodity and none of these areas, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, and Iraq, even Russia have not really earned America’s trust, nor do they deserve a blank check from America to do with the money as they please, with no oversight.

I say to some degree it is what it is – so it is written so shall it be. With this in mind are prophecies being fulfilled? Are we wasting time, lives and money fighting an uprising that is destiny? Can we change the course of what is meant to be or do we step back, re-evaluate and strengthen America for what is to come with the aim of surviving the predictions.

It would seem that whether we pull out of Afghanistan or not, the hate that the Taliban/al-Qaida feels for America will eventually bring the violence to our land. It would seem that the plotting goes on constantly to do just that. It would seem that we need our troops on our own soil to protect Americans and it would seem a sign of respect for our troops not to have them fighting in a war that has no end in sight.

We are aggravating the situation the longer we stay over there. We are encouraging the violence by sending more troops. We are playing into the hands of the enemy and on some levels supporting their cause with money. Yet, we continue on the path that serves no real purpose, spend money that we do not have and continue to lose lives even for the troops that physically survive, their lives are never the same.

I’m sorry to have to stick this in, not really, but it is because I would truly like to see things change in America on this level. We have spent so much energy denying that racism still exists in America even though the signs have been “in your face” since the election of President Obama.

I am now comparing our delusions of winning against the Taliban/al-Qaida with our delusional view of racism in America – for me making the comparison is enough said – RECOGNIZE!!!

And that’s the way I see it!!!!

Pakistan – The War To End All Wars And Life As We Know It As Well

Published by truth2u under Life, Middle East, News Edit This

jesus.jpg

As our allies in Israel watch and rejoice, the Middle East will become the downfall of America. Now maybe this was the plan all along and maybe it was not but it seems that Israel’s mission with the constant attacks on Gaza/Palestine and America’s support of the violence has created a level of madness that has inspired a hate that is proving to be stronger than the fear America feels toward Israel; this “fear” of Israel goes back to the beginning of mankind and only through a look at that beginning can we understand where we are today.

The fear I speak of is not even a conscience fear but a fear born out of the concept of “God’s people” which are the Israelites. From history/the stories in the Bible, the God of the Israelites proved himself to be the strongest, most powerful God. While there are those who insist that we do not combine religion and politics, these are just words we as a nation use to appease those who would truly have us view this nation as being built not on religious values but on the hopes and dreams of man.

Now without getting off into a serious history lesson, on some levels I feel Israel has a lot to do with the attitude in the Middle East and America’s blind support of Israel has made us the enemy as well. I am not saying that I am against Israel, however from my understanding of the Bible, it was God’s people who eventually killed Jesus – so it was written, so did it happen.

Myself, I am a Jesus freak. I, for the most part, claim to understand His teachings and the love He had for his people as well as any people that believed. This love is what He wanted to share with the world and on many levels He attempted to explain the concept to his people.

However, at the time of His appearance on earth, His people needed a warrior, someone to lead them in a physical confrontation with their oppressors. This was not who Jesus was and in the end, because of the confusion of His people, the Israelites, He died on the cross at their request.

Now if you were responsible for the death of someone as great as Jesus how could you therefore claim him as your savior? How could you live with the thought that you had your savior killed? This is a heavy burden, one destined to create a lack of the knowledge he attempted to spread. Without that knowledge, Jesus could not be in your heart and your deeds will most definitely reflect the absence of Jesus in your hearts.

So it is with Israel and by our blind support of Israel, so it is with us and out of this blind support of Israel and the ugliness Israel perpetrates against a separate nation of people we have aligned ourselves with Israel and become an enemy of those who hate Israel; an enemy that is becoming more and more desperate, more and more violent who are willing to strap on bombs and commit murderous suicide for the “cause” as a means to be heard and recognized.

Now it is obvious, to me, these militants, no more than Israel, has Jesus in their hearts but you have to ask yourself do they have a legitimate reason for their violence. I say on some levels, yes, even if it is only in their minds. However, while some of it may be in their minds, some of it is based on real losses, real anger as a result of the losses. This anger has simmered, over time, and has boiled into rage and hate because it has been left unattended throughout the history of mankind.

Hate is irrational, hate is vengeful, hate is violent and that’s where we are now. Iraq, Afghanistan and now there is a serious war in Pakistan. Pakistan holds the power of nuclear weapons and the potential of the sights seen in Nostradamus’ predictions.

As the “enemy” advances in the violent takeover of Pakistan the very real possibility exists that those nuclear weapons will fall into the hands of people who think nothing of dying for their cause; people who view their cause as righteous, people who believe their God is on their side.

Is it too late for positive communications? Has the hate they feel for the wrongs committed against them grown too strong? Are they feeling cocky with the power of their God leading them to victory in the region of Afghanistan pushing them onward to Pakistan where true power can be achieved?

I think its past time to recognize that unless something is done, besides the violence of a military surge in Afghanistan, the predictions of Nostradamus will become a reality that we will all have to deal with.

And that’s the way I see it!!!!

Time For A Reality Check In Afghanistan

Published by truth2u under Middle East, News, Politics Edit This

afghanistan1.jpg

While those for the deployment of more troops to Afghanistan are holding up Iraq as the example of “success” in the war against terrorism, the reality is that Iraq is a poor example.

According to an article I recently read on MSNBC, Iraqi locals are feeling powerless and abandoned now that U.S. troops are pulling out by the thousands. After six years of war, a U.S. military surge, the training of Iraqi civilians, millions of dollars spent for reconstruction, what has really changed in Iraq.

People are still dying, insurgents are still operating but because of the American ego, those in power, in America are suggesting that Americans “won” the war and using Iraq as an example of what a surge in military personnel will do for the war in Afghanistan.

According to this article, “the Iraqi government has taken no steps to hold elections for the councils, and the Baghdad provincial council is culling them of members it deems unqualified or unfit for service.” For many, this is a gloomy, to say the least, sign of the brand of democracy that is likely to rule in Iraq.

This is a sign that to a large extent, things have not really changed in Iraq; that because of the power the insurgents still wield in Iraq there will be no “grass-roots” representation for/by the people and that the power will fall into the hands of a select few, reverting back to business as usual as soon as Americans leave the area.

As a direct result of this, the council members who have become top targets of insurgents in recent years are feeling exposed and helpless to effect the type of changes necessary to sustain not only peace but the democratic flow with the pullout of U.S. Troops so how is Iraq such an excellent example of what a “military surge” will accomplish in Afghanistan.

This article goes on to say that the head of the Sadr City District Council has stated: “The U.S. Army and the U.S. Embassy have abandoned us. After six years of very hard work, we’re worthless. They call us agents, spies for the Americans.”

I guess my point is this: The people in the Middle East, the oldest land in the history of mankind, have been living in chaos for so long, under the rule of dictators, controlled, misled, disrespected, violence and corruption perpetrated against them for so long, as a means to keep them under control that for them an end is not in sight even now.

While the people may want change they are powerless to stand up and demand change for fear of violent repercussions. Fear for their lives and the lives of their family members.

The bully mentality the U.S. adopted did nothing to strengthen the resolve of the people in Iraq because the violence of the insurgents has not lessened – they are relentless in their desire; they are persistent in their need to control and they will not give up that control because power is intoxicating.

To some extent, the money the U.S. has been pouring into Iraq for “reconstruction” has probably lined the pockets of the insurgents – how can Americans be sure that this is not the case. How can Americans be sure they are not funding the very people they are fighting? So it is in Afghanistan. How delusional is the American Congress if they have convinced themselves, for the sake of ego, that we actually “won” the war in Iraq.

How delusional are they to think that after eight years of fighting in Afghanistan, U.S. troops dying daily, the efforts to “win” deteriorating drastically that a surge of more troops will accomplish anything besides giving the Taliban more targets to annihilate.

Why spend millions/billions of dollars on reconstruction in a land where bombs go off daily in an effort to instill fear in the hearts and minds of the people. On some levels it seems more plausible to determine what the biggest threat is – and that seems to be Pakistan and their availability of nuclear weapons – eliminate by confiscating those weapons and the ability to create more – the world against one country’s mission would seem like something world power could easily control but it has not happened yet.

While I know I have over simplified, I can not grasp the inability of world powers to control this small region of the world called the Middle East for the safety and protection of everyone else who shares this earth.

Obviously war is not the answer, yet war is the only method that has been used – you go in, kill innocent people, disrupt lives, inspire more hate, spend billions of dollars and when things don’t change, you systematically pull out and claim a “win” when in reality nothing has changed but your egos are in tack because of your delusional view of what constitutes a “win” yet the same problems persist.

Can someone explain this “logic” on a level that I can understand? I don’t think so because it is what it is and while I feel very sorry for the people in the Middle East, those who have been disrespected, treated like children, violence perpetrated against them all the days of their lives, I also see their situation as one they have, to some extent, allowed to happen.

At some point you have to stand up for yourself or walk away. While I am good for running, in my personal life, running is not always the answer because it doesn’t change anything but it does keep you from enduring what seems impossible to change.

In America, I have run from city to city, job to job in my efforts to escape the constant racial attitudes. At one point my freedom to move was prohibited and I attempted to strike back because for me those people crossed a line with me by restricting my movements.

Eventually, I broke free from their restraint but in the process, I carried with me not only the horrible memory of my experience with them but a “label” as well but I survived and I continued on with my life and soon I will be able to “retire” with an income that will sustain me until I leave this crazy world.

My point is unless you are ready to stand up for yourself those insurmountable inconveniences will persist, life will seem not worth living and you will never feel strong enough, within yourself, to bring about the changes you need to live a “mentally healthy” life. But the most important thing is to realize which battles to pursue and when to walk away.

As long as you allow yourself to be controlled and abused that’s all you have coming to you and somehow the people in the Middle East need to make some choices because America can not make things “change” for them - Americans can not even change themselves - truth is only the people in the Middle East have the power to change their circumstances.

And that’s the way I see it!!!!

How Far Will America Go To Stop Change

copenhagan27.jpg

Recently a poll was set up on Facebook “Should Obama be killed?” was the question. In the short time that it was posted, over 750 participants answered this question. Whether they all confirmed or denied the death of the president is anybody’s guess since once Facebook realized the poll was up, they took it down.

My point to this is to reaffirm what I have previously mentioned in other posts – that the attitudes being displayed during town hall meetings and tea parties would eventually escalate and provide the atmosphere of madness that would be conducive to murder.

I have lived through the murder of a president before. It had a profound affect on me and the way I view politics in America. Truth be told, as a result of the turbulent times I was raised in, the narrow minded views of politicians in that time, the resistance to change during that time, the hate, racism, irrational attitudes and the murder of four good men during that time I lost all interest in politics.

Now, all these years later, the climate is ripe for a repeat of the negativity that pushed four people over the edge to feel justified in taking the life of another human being. When will the madness stop, lessons be learned and the violence viewed for what it is – shear insanity.

Over the past few weeks, I have fought a losing battle to stop watching the news. I could not understand why the first thing I did when I got home from work was to turn on the news to see what had happened in the world while I was not watching. As angry as the news had begun to make me, I just could not stop watching. I realized that my obsession is based purely on expectations.

I expect the political climate to become worse as issues arise for the President. I expect those who are against the President to continue to circulate lies that create misunderstanding and hate. I expect the media to emphasize the madness as opposed to emphasizing the support of the President.

I expect to witness the increased hatred for the President via the news coverage and I expect to one day rush home, turn on the news and hear that an attempt has been made on the life of the President. My hope is that it is only an attempt and that the climate that is brewing does not allow for the actual death of the President.

We, as a nation, sit in constant criticism of the political make-up of other countries yet what we are displaying to other countries is an ignorant display of hostility, maliciousness, corruption, hysteria, lies, divisions, hate and stupidity.

You speak of the legitimacy of the President in Iran, Afghanistan yet according to the voices that are being heard most frequently here in America, the legitimacy of our President is in question – never mind the fact that these allegations have been proven false in the case of President Obama.

While the number of death threats continues to rise, against a legitimate President of the United States of America, Congress continues to cloud the issues of health care/insurance reform and even though word is getting out just how much money those involved in the decision making regarding health care/insurance reform, are being paid by the insurance/medical industry, the debate continues and the momentum increases to deny “government intervention” in the health care reform.

General McCrystal, in what I feel is an attempt to undermine the President, let his need for more troops “leak” out as he verbally petitions for more men in Afghanistan. This shines a negative light on the President as people like McCain endorse the concept of more men in Afghanistan, creating more division on crucial issues faced by President Obama.

Even the coverage of the story of Derrion Albert takes on a new meaning when I witness the glee I have seen at the fact that Obama went to Copenhagen to bid on the 2016 Olympics and lost that bid for Chicago to host the Olympics in 2016. There have been 36 other deaths of children in Chicago; was the timing of Derrion’s death conducive to showing the violence in Chicago as a means of undermining the Presidents bid? If so this is a sick and demented display of fake sympathy and, I for one, am appalled at even the thought of the ugliness.

Truth is as I witness the things going on in American politics I am beginning to question every action. The games are out there setting the stage for dissention and divisions, brewing anger and hate with the hope, I would say, that someone takes the President out before any change can be instituted and although many would deny this reality, the truth is in the denial of why there is such an intensity to the division, on every subject, in the first place.

Verbal denial serves no purpose because actions tell the real story and the story America is writing is filled with hate, disrespect, violence and lies – recognize!!!

And that’s the way I see it!!!

Moammar Gadhafi - Power To The People - Sane Or Insane (Or High)

Published by truth2u under Life, Middle East, News, Politics Edit This

gadhafi2.jpg

Moammar Gadhafi’s visit to the United States demonstrated, to many, America’s attitude of superiority as some members of the audience rudely got up and walked out. I must be a true militant/revolutionary at heart because even though I viewed Gadhafi as somewhat erratic, as well as a bit comical, in his performance at the U.N. General Assembly meeting, I could not discount all of his words.

I do however put him on the same level I put Charles Manson – a person who rants about injustices for justifications of wrongs he has committed but inside the rants are truly words of wisdom as well. Color me crazy right along with the two of them but there is truth in their madness, however just when they are beginning to make sense they both take wide turns and go off the deep end before coming back to a reality that I can relate to.

Now truth be told, I was at work during most of his tirade but when I got home and turned on the television Gadhafi was at the point of tossing some book over his shoulder for emphasis and drama. He went on to discuss the situation between Israel and Gaza saying that the two state idea was in essence, a ridiculous idea. He cites that there is a large population of Israelis living in Gaza and goes on to say that Israelis and Palestinians are the same people and should learn to get along as such.

Never were there truer words spoken regarding the situation in that region, as right now the United States is attempting to force Israel out of Gaza, prohibiting the building of settlements, by Israel, in Gaza. This is not happening nor is Israel viewing this as something they want to do; it is time to stop the childishness over there and accept the fact that a true change of attitude is what is needed to the tune of “Can’t we all just get along.”

Though Gadhafi may have been a bit offensive in some of his rants as well as a little paranoid in his conspiracy theories, some of the conspiracy theories were relevant as far as I am concerned only to the extent that they are all possibilities that I have heard discussed in earnest by otherwise intelligent people.

Since I did not watch all of his speech, the speech loses something in the translation and the news media simply plays portions that show most clearly Gadhafi’s erratic behavior so as to solidify the assumption that he is crazy, I can only make comments on what I saw for myself.

Fareed Zakaria, from CNN interviewed Gadhafi regarding the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. While Gadhafi did not claim ownership of that disaster nor in simple words say he was sorry, he did allude to the feeling that this was a tragedy and that anyone hearing such a story could not help but to be affected by what had happened.

The outrage that Rick Sanchez showed – righteous indignation is a better word - was a bit over the top. War is hell, innocent people die, revenge is sought and things happen. The Bible states “let he who is without sin, cast the first stone” – I say America has been a terrorist in more than one instance and lives were lost. I say America is still in Afghanistan, as well as Iraq – they were not invited, innocent people are dying and both wars continue.

I say if the women who lost a brother on Pan Am flight 103 can forgive the situation and come on CNN to talk to Rick Sanchez about her role in dealing with the Libyan people in an effort to bridge attitudes regarding this incident, who are we to continue to pass negativity around regarding this incident and the freeing of the one person convicted of the crime.

I say righteous indignation, arrogance and the bully mentality need to stop with the people of America for we are, in some cases, just as guilty of the crimes we accuse others of. I say claim your own mistakes before you attempt to make others claim theirs.

Following this Rick Sanchez segment on Gadhafi’s refusal to say simply “I’m sorry” was a segment that showed Marines who are suffering and dying from breast cancer because of a situation they encountered while living on Camp Lejeune military base.

Even though the toxins were known to exist in the water, even though people are suffering from this exposure to the toxins these military/former military personnel are being denied treatment from the VA.

No one has told them they are sorry, no one has even claimed the possibility that the water could have done this; no one is showing support to men who have fought for this country and are now suffering as a result of extreme negligence.

I say practice what you preach. Act in ways that you would have others act towards you. I say end the righteous indignation, for you are neither righteous nor without guilt of being, yourself, terrorist on some levels.

And that’s the way I see it!!!!
