Are We Fighting A War Or Solving The Healthcare Crisis

Healthcare reform, over the years, has been a major topic of conversation. Republican Senator, Jim DeMint, summed up the political war that is raging, during the conversations this time around in Washington over Obama’s healthcare proposal, when he made his statement “If we are able to stop Obama on this” meaning Obama’s healthcare proposal, “it will be his ‘Waterloo’. He goes on to say “It’s not personal. We’ve got to stop his politics.”

These words demonstrate the reality of the attitudes of a lot of Republicans on Capital Hill. It is not what is best for the people, it is what is best to restrain Obama and his politics, which is very personal since he was elected, by the majority, as President of the United States. How this can not be viewed as “personal” is beyond my comprehension.

The definition of personal: Relating to the parts of someone’s life, intended for or owned by a specific person rather than anyone else. The politics a man believes in is a very personal thing. A man’s desire to do good for the people he serves is very personal. Republicans should do themselves a favor, by recognizing what an attempt to do good for the people entails. Confusing the issues seems to work in a big way and the more you talk about an issue the more confused it becomes.

In essence, Republicans are demonstrating that the goal is to defeat Obama just like Napoleon Bonaparte was defeated at the battle of Waterloo. This defeat at Waterloo did not kill Napoleon it simply put an end to Napoleon’s rule as the French emperor and being the “poor losers” that they act like, Republicans are more interested in seeing Obama lose than doing what is right for the people.

With a visible and verbal attitude that has been expressed by Republicans, any intelligent person would have to ask; how much of this proposal did the Republicans even read? Did Republicans simply scan the pages looking for issues they could come out and criticize as ‘not effective’? Knowing the mission of Republicans, to bring Obama to his knees in surrender, how can they even be believable in their criticism?

For the first time in the history of the conversations on healthcare in America, Obama has managed to get some significant people on board with their support of the legislation. Yet, rather than get on board and attempt to rewrite some of what they feel is wrong with the bill, Republicans suggest the best way to deal with it is to scrape it and start all over from page one so as to be “truly bipartisan;” like they have really demonstrated their desire to be bipartisan up to this point.

This is irrational, idiotic, selfish, controlling, disrespectful and highly motivated towards their ultimate goal of bringing about a “Waterloo” – the final last stand of Obama’s presidency. These people are playing a crucial game with the health, wellbeing and economic conditions of the American public all because they want to wage war against their opponent.

Republicans are essentially saying to the American public that their mission is more important than your daily lives are; what a statement to put out, to the very people, who they are suppose to be serving and protecting. How ignorant are the people who view this as “the right thing to do” even after they verbalize their main goal.

While the average person has not read the legislation, based on the people who have backed the legislation the most that can be said is that out of all those pages it took to write out the proposal, there may be some things in there that are not completely worked out and at the very least more analysis of those points should be discussed but to scrape the whole thing so as the Republicans can demonstrate some kind of power and win a battle that is fought for their egos is egregious.

Someone is always going to dictate, to some degree, some things about your medical care, your doctor, your insurance company, the government (Medicaid, Medicare, VA), the important thing to recognize here is that medical coverage will be more accessible and affordable for more people, that in the long run (which this program has in mind) and with due diligence by the people, health care costs can be minimized, that we all need to do our parts to support this, not only with the possibility of higher taxes but with the thought in mind of prevention of certain controllable illnesses.

Everybody has an opinion. On any given subject there will be those for and those against and the more this subject is discussed, the more that discussion is going to prolong implementation. The debt we all seem to be so concerned with can be paid back in time and with the support of the people – time is all anyone truly has here on earth. Keeping things in the proper perspective is important – it is time to recognize.

And that’s the way I see it!!!

Well, its actually Republicans and Democrats who do not like the current health care bill being promoted by Obama. The Republicans can’t do anything, they are the minority. The Dems have control of both the House and Congress. They have the majority and if they want it passed there is nothing the Republicans can do.

Like Obama, you cannot put this hold-up on the Republicans. His own party is holding this crappy plan up from being passed into law. Its all rhetoric and you should place the “blame” on the correct party…Democrats… Plain and simple. Your article sounds like MSNBC ….blame the Republicans.

I’m thankfull for those “blue-dog” Democrats for standing up and expressing their dislike for the current bill. Now that is what you can call bipartisian!

P.S. The Repubs added 160 amendments to the plan.

You know scotty it is ok for you to bash liberals, obama or anything or anybody that you disagree with but whenever I write anything that is based on what is in the news - you have to leave your unsolicited, negative comments. You tell me I do not understand politics - but I know enough that I realize obama did not write the legislation for healthcare reform - yet he is being “blamed” for it and it will, in the end, bear his signature of approval.

You have been preaching the virtues of your chosen party or set of ideals - well I am pointing out the flaws. There is no “perfect party” or no “perfect plan” or no “perfect person” the only thing that really matters is that those elected to do the “people’s bidding” work towards that goal.

You need to spend less time attempting to discredit me and more time checking yourself. I had to leave this comment because you just keep leaving your insanity on my blogs. I will not be addressing you again unless you get on my nerves again by leaving messages on my post continuously.
