What Motivates John McCain In His Criticisms Of Obama’s Stand On Iran
Was it the 2000 election that reeked of fraudulent behavior here in America? I’m not sure I just remember it happening and that is the only thing that is important in this discussion. As I watch people like John McCain try to goad President Obama into taking a stronger stand against the election in Iran, I have to wonder at the motivation.
It is not President Obama’s place to “meddle” in the political confusion that is taking place in Iran. Flip the script and recognize how our country would have been outraged if any other nation had stepped in to meddle in our election fiasco. What would have been America’s respond?
John McCain has implied that President Obama is not being forceful enough in his response to the crisis in Iran. Just what would John suggest Obama do or say, understanding America’s shaky relationship with this country? If we have seen anything in the last few months it is that Obama does not have a “bully mentality” otherwise he would not have been able to reach out his hand in friendship to those who mean us harm; he would not have been able to stand up and admit America’s short comings of the past while pointing out the short comings of other nations as well.
Reality dictates that although Mr. Mousavi may be a better candidate for the people of Iran, his point of view is not too much different than the views held by President Ahmadinejad when it comes to dealing with America. He, like Ahmadinejad, both stated that they have no intention of giving in to Western demands to halt uranium enrichment, this being said with Russia more or less backing Iran’s nuclear armament mission.
Even if Mousavi did win the election, he does not have “ultimate power,” he only has delegated power. Ultimate power in that country comes from “The Supreme Leader,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who holds no real respect for the United States or much desire to “get along” with the United States and who, incidentally, is a stronger backer of Ahmadinejad. The only issue that is really at stake in the Iranian election fiasco is that when the people of Iran spoke, they were not heard.
My question becomes with the understanding of who holds ultimate power in Iran and the knowledge that regardless of who is in office when it comes to international issues, Iran does not have peace or America’s best interest at heart, why would McCain come out putting Obama down for not taking a stronger stand unless his goal is to drive a wedge in the perspective of the people in the United States regarding Obama; those people who do not take the time to do their research but instead blindly follow ignorant, bully mentality people.
I am so, so very glad that McCain did not win this election. He is deceitful, I do not trust him and he still tries, whenever he can, to show to the people that Obama was the wrong choice. This is the same attitude he held during the election when he thought he could appeal to the “good old boys” – a dying breed I hope - of America to win the election.
John McCain knows these facts regarding Iran – or does he? He ran for president, he has been in politics forever, he backed Bush on much of his policy, he has been a prisoner of war yet, what has he really learned from these experiences – my answer would be “not one damn thing!!!”
And that’s the way I see it.

Truth2u, You are so correct. Obama doesn’t need to say or do anything about the election in Iran. The people of Iran have and continue to speak loud and clear. The change we can believe in starts with staying out of other countries politics. The situation in Iran is becoming grave as more and more people refuse to stop protesting. This thing will take care of itself, one way or another. Nothing is to be gained by speaking on the situation. The world is watching and the horse has already left the barn and can’t be put back in.
Obama cannot afford to question the election in Iran with ACORN hanging around his neck like a stone, threatening to sink his ship at every turn. Being tough on Iran wouldn’t work even if Obama wanted to be tough, and that is, at best, questionable; however, the Iranian government has never listened to anyone unless it benefitted them and it’s assured that our intrusion would be unwelcomed and unheard.
The reasons behind any republican goading Obama is clear, there has to be someone that is not singing his praises, but it will do little good until the people, in this country, wake up and realize that what goes on in Washington can only be stopped when we quit arguing among ourselves and do something about it.

I watched a Lou Dobbs show last night he had the head of Acorn on and some Senator or Congressman - Lou did his research and discovered Obama never worked for Acorn the way a lot of people are trying to imply whenever Acorn is in the news and Lou said this after the Senator attempted to put Obama on the payroll of Acorn. Exact words I do not remember I just remember thanking Lou Dobbs for setting the record straight.
I’m saying to you guys - do the research before you open your mouth otherwise you come off sounding…
